“You see things; and you say ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say ‘Why not?’”
-George Bernard Shaw
"For the student with the brightest entreprenuerial spirit...
During his junior year in high school, young, seventeen year old entrepreneur William A. Pattiz, founded his first company,
KEPAT Design LLC. The company specialized in web design but also performed jobs for other businesses in the areas of
graphic design, video production, virtual tours and more. In his senior year of high school Pattiz redesigned his high
school’s website. He then moved on to the University of Georgia where he started his second business, The Otter Bay
Company. The Otter Bay Company is an apparel company working to provide the world with clothing that conveys class,
elegance, and success, to wear everywhere for everything. The company specializes in knit shirts but provides several
other clothing options. As a result of the company’s rapid success, Pattiz and the Otter Bay Company were able to
create The Otter Bay Merit Scholarship.
...and tremendous character."
Joan Pattiz is, and always has been, one to display tremendous character. She is the kind of person that gives to, helps, and loves people unconditionally, with no concern as to any recognition she may or may not receive for doing so. Joan doesn't do for recognition, she gives because that's who she is, what she believes in, and because she has a great heart. For twelve years she put two of her grandsons through The Heritage School. It was not until after they graduated that either of the two boys found out about this, and it was not Joan who enlightened them. If someone needed advice on life decisions, Joan was there. She treated every family member, friend, and stranger with the dignity and enthusiasm one might only reserve for family, because to Joan, everyone was family. She has given, and continues to give her hard earned money and time to a multitude of charitable organizations because she believes in their cause. Her compassion for humanity is very apparent to those close to her and shines in all of her tremendous, good-samaritan, works.
Long live the Entreprenuerial Spirit.
